Sandy Paws Rescue Inc., a dedicated foster-based dog rescue in Massachusetts, recently introduced a charming new resident to their foster program. Muppet is a delightful small dog weighing just 11.4 pounds, who has already captured the hearts of his foster family with his energetic personality and loving nature. According to Sandy Paws Rescue inc., Muppet was one of a handful of pups who was recently saved from euthanasia thanks to dedicated fosters in Massachusetts who stepped up to help. Now living safely in a foster home, Muppet is being given some much needed rest and decompression time.

Despite his petite size, Muppet’s enthusiasm for life is anything but small. “He LOVES to play with all his toys, especially if there is a human attached,” shares his foster family, highlighting his social nature and playful disposition. In terms of affection, Muppet has his own unique style of showing love. “He is not much of a lap dog but enjoys lying next to you,” his foster family explains. He also gets along well with other dogs of all sizes and is even listed as being okay with cats, making him an excellent candidate for homes with existing pets.

As far as trainging goes, Muppet has already mastered several aspects of domestic life. His fosters say that “he seems to be housebroken and does well in his crate”, but that he’s still working on refining some skills. Particularly, his curiosity about the world around him shows during walks, as his foster family notes he “wants to smell everything!” Despite that natural curiosity, Muppet is diligently working on improving his leash skills. Currently, he’s expanding his intellectual horizons as well, as “he loves treats and is working on some basic commands in his foster home!”

Sandy Paws Rescue Inc. is a volunteer-run nonprofit in Massachusetts on a mission to provide dogs with new beginnings through their foster-based rescue program. Their reach spans several states, as they rescue dogs from shelters, abusive environments, and owner surrenders in Massachusetts, while also assisting stray dogs from Texas, North Carolina, Georgia, and Florida. Since they don’t have a physical shelter, all their rescued dogs receive care in nurturing foster homes and kennels until they find their forever families.

As a nonprofit organization, Sandy Paws Rescue Inc. operates entirely through the dedication of volunteers who balance their rescue work with full-time careers. Their motivation comes purely from the joy of matching dogs with loving forever homes. As a nonprofit dependent on donations, Sandy Paws Rescue Inc. faces significant expenses in its mission, including transportation costs, veterinary care, and daily necessities for its rescued dogs. The adoption fees they collect only partially cover these extensive costs, making community support crucial for their continued operation.

Sandy Paws Rescue Inc. requires that anyone interested in learning more information or adopting a dog through them must submit an application to receive any additional information. As a foster-based rescue based in Massachusetts, Sandy Paws Rescue Inc. doesn’t have a shelter location, and visits with dogs are by appointment only. Sandy Paws Rescue Inc.’s dogs reside in private foster homes or kennels until adoption. They also note that at this time, Sandy Paws Rescue Inc. is only adopting to those living in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, and some areas in Connecticut. Sandy Paws Rescue explains that they adopt to other New England states on a case-by-case basis. For more information on how to adopt from Sandy Paws Inc.,
